THE airport at the popular Fiji holiday destination of Savusavu is to reopen on Monday 8th December 2008, following a major upgrade to runway and facilities. Costing around FJ$5 million, the upgrade will improve the airport for holidaymakers and business people visiting the region. While the runway was closed during the past four months, tourists were diverted to Labasa airport and transferred by bus to their Savusavu resorts and hotels.
