Australian visitation to Fiji built to 318,185, a 28 per cent increase over the 248,489 recorded across 2009 and accounting for 50.4 per cent of Fiji’s total international arrivals for the year.

Tourism Fiji Regional Director Australia, Paresh Pant said the huge increase in Australian visitation numbers was in fact bigger than the combined total achieved from all other of Fiji’s source markets.

“This included a last quarter burst from this market which saw us welcome 86,792 Aussies – a close on 15 per cent increase for the same period in 2009,” Mr Pant said.

“We are obviously doing something very right in this market,” he said.
