Taveuni continues its Popularity as a Residential Haven

Fiji's third largest island - Taveuni - is known as the Garden Island ... and for good reason. With a central ridge, and verdant rainforested slopes descending to picturesque coves, the island foreshores are readily cultivated with coconut palms, tropical flowers, local kava plantations and village 'vegetable farms'. The Taveuni people are some of the friendliest on earth providing a welcoming friendly community atmosphere.

The island's primary coastline extends from Matei in the north-east down to Vuna in the south-west via the chiefly village of Somosomo and the business village of Waiyevo, and there is a good coastal road in place. The orientation of the island means that stunning sunsets can be enjoyed in all seasons, with wonderful ocean and island views.

There is a cluster of small to medium (budget to luxury) tourism developments in the Matei area, possibly due to its proximity to the air strip at this location, as well as a few other tourist destinations along the sunset coasts. Scuba diving is very popular due to the island's proximity to the world-famous Rainbow Reef. Sport/Game Fishing, birdwatching, hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, snorkelling and swimming help make this garden island paradise a great place in which to relax and play!

Taveuni also has one of the highest densities of freehold land in the country(there is only around 8.5% freehold land in Fiji Islands)and this has also led to the popularity of investment in residential land and or homes.

Come share the dream! There are many excellent land parcels available. Visit Taveuni Oceanview Property to see the latest release of excellent oceanview lots just a short walk to the beach. The owner can be contacted via the link on the page.

The never ending Search for Fiji Development property

Fiji has seen tremendous growth in investment of hotel development over the past few years. New major resort developments on Denarau, as well as at Momi Bay and Natadola Beach will help satisfy the increased demand for tourist accommodation.

The investment trend continues and the demand for good beachfront property, especially freehold and on the mainland, has increased. Investors and developers are finding it more and more difficult to find just the right property.

Possibly one of the best kept secrets is a freehold, absolute beachfront property of over 180 acres that has been released for sale. This prime real estate has over two miles of beach frontage and is in the form of a peninsula joined to the mainland by a narrow section of land. The peninsula runs parallel to the mainland forming a sheltered lagoon on the land side, which will appeal to developers for its potential use as a marina. The property is large enough to encompass one or two resorts, plus residential or leaseback villa estates.

The property is close to established tourism infrastructure that will enhance any development of the site. It is truly an island ambience, with mainland convenience.

Since the peninsula is connected to the mainland by only a slim neck of land, it has the appearance and advantages of an island.
